What kind of verb is it? Do you mean tense? Do you mean active or passive? What are you asking?

Some answerers wonder what exactly you are asking for, I am currently wondering what "setteleres" are (I know Irish Setters, but that is a dog breed....) and what it is they are hoping for - a "furture"... furniture?

I am really sorry, but some askers drive me up the walls. I am very, very willing to help you out with your homework, but you didn´t only NOT make sure you phrased the question in a way people know what you are asking for; you ALSO didn´t even bother to check your spelling after having copied a sentence from a book....

No own effort - no Homework Help.

What? You need to know the verb in the sentence?
Look for the "action word".

The verb is "gave." But please, check your spelling on "settlers" and "future."
