I thought his first comments about Don Imus' statements was funny, but I found his statement at the end to be more important -- about how women are getting away from the fundamentals. It's AMAZING that women have such high standards that men have to meet in order to be with her, yet men have such simple requests that women refuse to be able to do. Since when did women start seeing cooking as being "demeaning"? I see it as a noble talent and a commendable skill.

I had the opportunity to meet Damon Wayans last year, and he's definitely a great, articulate, upstanding man.

To continue on what I was saying about how women put more pressure on men to meet the higher standards men have to meet in order to attain her:

1. drive a fancy car

2. be at least 6'4"

3. handsome

4. muscular physique

5. funny

6. talented (musically, artistically, etc.)

7. athletic (prefferably played sports in high school)

8. have a large *rhymes with venus*

9. be popular

10. must have college degree

11. must be religious or spiritual

12. must be intelligent (summa *** laude minimum requirement)

13. able to "reveal his feelings"

Men's standards that women have to

1. know how to cook

2. possess a vagina (be a female that's able to have sex)

3. be a decent human being (don't be a *rhymes with stitch*)

I think #2 and #3 are easy for a woman, but for some reason women refuse to cook despite all of the effort the man makes to meet her impossible standards.

Oh yeah, I forgot another one for women's standards men must meet:

14. Must make at least 100K a year.

The Mrs.: How wrong you are. Everyone on here that knows me, knows that I've been dating my girl for over a year. Everyone here that has seen my myspace page has seen pictures of me and my girlfriend. And guess what? She cooks! Also, I cook for her too. She's not like you misandrist "new age" women that are scared of a stove or pots & pans. Finding her among the women today is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Where's your man?

Your right and I agree with Damon. Women can make demands all day of what they expect from men.. but when men say what they want they are somehow "degrading" women.

Non-sense

Look at WHAT these "requirements" are FOR!

When you get past the 1st 4 "requirements" - and 7 & 8 - for men (NONE of which have ever mattered to ME), the "requirements" for a man are about what would make for a good companion and interesting personality.
The "requirements" for a woman, however, are all about what would make a good SERVANT!

The message is CLEAR:
If we are to take these absurd lists seriously, then,
WOMEN want a partner with a great personality
MEN want a docile servant/sex toy

How would YOU feel if these "requirements" were turned around?
Suppose that the "requirements" for a woman were
Good Education
Pleasant Personality
Patience and Tolerance
Intelligence
Spiritual Awareness
Free of any Substance Addictions
Graciousness and Poise
Classy Dresser
Honor and Dignity
Good Sense of Humor
Good Sport
And the "requirements" for a man were
Be able to earn a paycheck
Be able to rake leaves and do other household maintenance chores
Have a functioning set of sex organs

Wouldn't you maybe find all of THAT at least a LITTLE bit offensive?

I, for one, don't know where these lists of "requirements" came from, anyway.
MY requirements for a guy were all totally different:
Honorable and ethical
Respectful of the feelings and psycho/emotional rights of others
Hopefully, some interests in common
No substance addictions
Even tempered - no explosive hotheads
Should love animals

Strangely, NEITHER of my love interests have EVER "met" a lot of those "requirements" from your lists, but I have thought no less of them for it.
My late husband had NO car when we met, was NOT handsome, NOT popular, NOT athletic, WAS very intelligent, but did NOT go to college, could compose music, but definitely could NOT play it, was UNEMPLOYED, etc.

My current boyfriend is well UNDER 6'4", has an UGLY 17-year-old pick-up truck that guzzles gas like it was going out of style, has NEVER been athletic, couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, never even finished junior high school, is about as far from muscular as one can get, but he IS intelligent, funny, sensitive and the most remarkable person I have ever met - for MANY reasons!

Amazingly, they BOTH could cook - and were even VERY good at it - and neither cares whether or not I can cook!!!

I don't understand why many people think the words "female" and "cooking" have to be joined together. What exactly is so inherently female about cooking? I am a female and have never enjoyed doing it. What gets me is because of my sex, it's something I'm expected to love doing even though I would rather watch paint dry.

As for the impossibly high standards, it sounds to me more like the result the type of women Damon Wayan's attracted to. He specifically likes those types of women so those are the only ones he notices. If he actually tried looking around more, he would find that many women don't have those impossibly high standards. For example, I don't care what kind of a car a man drives as long as it's not a clunker and he's a good driver.

You missed another standard that men have for women:
She has to good-looking enough and meet the physical expectations of a particular guy. Most men have incredibly high standards on how a woman should look like.

It would be nice if men only had three standards for women (know how to cook, be a woman, be nice), but unfortunately this is not enough for most men. Most men place a place great deal of emphasis on a woman's beauty.

Edit: Why the thumbs down? Am I wrong LycraSpandex? I don't think anything I said is false. Would you go for an unattractive girl provided that she met the other three conditions? Be honest.

Don Imus is a creep , but Damon did make me laugh with his truism. And as far as women go...alot of em "hook up" with men who work hard, make enough money to support them both, then wanna sit home on their butts or shop. Believe me, I know. Alot of my clientele are families that the guy's always working to support his wife's spending and hobbies.

I'm a woman and I believe he's right; some women ought to be lucky they have a boy friend or that they even managed to get hitched the way they're acting these days. Women were made to be women and that's what they ought to stay as; despite their beliefs.

Damon Wayans is a genius, he is the smartest comedian haha. It is true, everything he said was true. It's funny how he got bad looks at him when he said the truth.

Why should women be the only ones who have to know how to cook? Can't men do it? It's not that hard. That's the demeaning part — that these men still define cooking as a woman's job.

Get off the Hatorade. Just because you cant get a girl doent mean women set their standards too high. You sound bitter. And that's something for me to say that because I dont say that very often.
