Okay, I had this bump on my eye lid for almost 5 months now,Since July 1st 07. has not went away, just always been there. it actually looks like its inside my eye lid making the bump apear on the outside. I don't know what it could be! I realized when it first showed up trust me,it wasn't hard... it hurt so bad the first few days to a week... It was a lot worse the first week making my eye swoop down funny... it still is swooped but not as much you can't really tell in less i point it out. But I never done anything about it because I thought it was from the pool... Because right after I came from the pool within that night or next day is when it started doing it... That's why I just assumed it was from the pool, and that it would go away pretty soon... because I had my eyes hurt from the pool before. The eye docter said my eyes are healthy (this was months before the bump when he said that). But does anyone know what it could be? If so, how do I get rid of it? Have you had this before?

This is probably a chalazion. Chalazions are painless; stys hurt.

Read about chalazions at http://www.emedicinehealth.com/chalazion_lump_in_eyelid/article_em.htm

Some chalazions can be reabsorbed into the body by using warm wet compresses to the area several times a day. Some spontaneously rupture; some must be lanced by a doctor. I have had six chalazions lanced.

If the article on chalazions sounds familiar, you may want to see your physician or ophthalmologist. An optometrist cannot treat chalazions as they do not do "eye surgeries".

Could be a sty, and it sounds like you've waited way too long to get rid of it. If you don't take care of a sty within a week or so it hardens and the only way to remove it is through surgery.
