Not only doctors. Lawyers, engineers, architects, just about anything can be called a practice. Kinda scary.

They don't actually call it a practice because they're practicing- owning a practice also means to work in medicine (or law).

Not really...I know they make mistakes and they literally are "practicing" on us, but medicine is a complex science that is always changing. And really, how else are they supposed to learn?

"Practice" and no it doesn't bother me at all. Do you have any idea how much schooling and training you need to have to open your own practice?
