In the context of integrity, I believe yes. Every leader should admit if he made a mistake.
Every human being commits mistakes and when a leader commits a mistake, everybody knows about it. Why? because true leaders are very visible to everyone. Whatever they do and say and express is never hidden. They are being watched everyday by evryone. Do you think they can hide a mistake or they can just deny it?
The only question when a leader commits a mistake is, wether the he has the courage to admit it or not. Or is he brave enough to face the consequence of his action or not?
What is the point of denying it if in the first place, everybody or the majority already knows about.

The President must admit a mistake if it was really committed so that the people will know the truth and will continue to have confidence in their Head of State.

Everybody including presidents make mistakes. Unfortunatley if they admit them the news media and the presidents opponets will see that as a sign of weakness and never let them hear the end of it.

he SHOULD. If Americans trust you to lead our country, at least inform us of whats going on. If they make a mistake, just admit it ! It's better to be honest then hide it and let someone else find out in their own way..

You may be able to get Bill Clinton's convoluted on air apology on youtube?
I don't know what difference it makes if a president admits to making a mistake, we all know they aren't perfect and make mistakes.
