a = b - 8
(-5)a = b + 28

(-5)(b-8) = b + 28
-5b + 40 = b + 28
-6b = -12
b = 2
a = 2 - 8 = -6

a = -6
b = 2

x = y - 8
-5 * x = 28 + y
substuitute y - 8 for x in 2nd equation
-5 * (y - 8) = 28 + y
-5y + 40 = 28 + y
12 = 6y
2 = y
x = -6

The integers are 2 and (-6). I did this by working with 7 as the larger integer, and slowly working my ay down. When i got to two, the smaller integer was (-6). (-6)*(-5) is 30. 30 - 2 = 28.

Let x one integer, therefore the other one is x - 8

Then,

- 5 (x - 8) = x + 28

Solve for x,

x = 2

x - 8 = - 6
