u should really sit down w/ your parents and have a heart-to-heart with them about how their smoking affects you/makes u feel and how bad it is for their health. you should also offer to help them search for resources to help them quit (like online, free hotlines, patches, medication, etc.) and motivate them if they decide 2 quit...i have a friend who took this approach w/ her dad and it worked...may work 4 u...good luck 2 u!!!

Unfortunately you are a product of their environment until you are of age and have the resources to move out on your own. Cig smell is horrible and I say this being a smoker. There really isnt a whole lot you can do if you dont want to use Febreeze or other freshners.
Try and sit down with them and act like an adult. If you try and talk to them the same way you are asking this question I can understand why they wouldnt do much to help you. Just be calm and ask them if there is any way they can help you not have to reek of smoke. If they say no, dont get all huffy, just say ok, thanks for your time and soon as you get a chance to move out when your old enough, do so.

First... keep the door to your bedroom closed at all times so that less of the smell gets in there. You can put some linen fresheners in your closets an wherever you keep your clothing (you can pick any scent you like and they are really cheap at most craft stores). Make sure to use a wash rag every day to wash up (you should do this anyway) and use a nice smelling lotion. Beyond that... its going to be hard to do much about it if your parents wont respect your wishes about smoking outside. Good luck hun.

I know how you are feeling because my parents smoked while I was in school and my clothes always smelled terrible...everyone thought I smoked because of it and I ended up being thought of as a liar. Long story short...not much you can do...talk to your folks and see how they feel about it...I know it is there house...what can you do except for talking to them.
Febreeze does work on clothing...I believe there is a special one you can buy just for clothing...give that a try. Maybe you can try throwing your clothes in the dryer with a dryer sheet right before you put them on to go out. Sometimes that used to work for me. Good luck hon!

To be straight up with you, unless you can move out of your house and in with someone else, you're screwed, I had this same problem in high school, I smelled like smoke all the time and didn't realize it until later in life........My only advice is to talk to a counselor at school and the school nurse, maybe you can get them to help you make your parents see your side of the story, after all, it's HORRIBLE for your health above all.

lol wow chill down hun. i know what you mean by people not reading the Q it is very annoying. i can imagin that is really annoying to. why dont you use fabrezze after you get out the house spray some on your clothes it should help. also there is this air freshner thing that is suposed to absorb the smaok smell, i think its air wick and it just sits in your living room that may help. i guess perfume (but you have prob tried that already) other than that i dont know its a very hard smell to conceal.

Your parents are very stupid to be smoking in the house! And it is very hard to get the smell of smoke go away. Sorry, I don't know what you can do other than wear lots of perfume but that doesn't work.

Stress to them they are killing you with the second-hand smoke and that if they don't start smoking outside, you will have no option but to go to your local child services. Stand your ground and know that if your parents aren't willing to compromise, you need to take matters into your own hands. Don't be afraid to stand up to them- this is for the sake of your health.
Good luck!

If they won't smoke outside then tell them that you'll go live outside. You have to be serious and actually set up a tent on the front lawn. You also will probably have to live in it for a few days too.

I agree with the first person. It's not fair for you especially since smoking is so bad for your health.
