There is nothing that can rise more tension than the hatred of Red Sox and Yankees fans for each other. I know this question has probably been asked a million times. Pick a team who you prefer. You don't need to explain why. Even if you like neither team, pick one or the other. Red Sox or Yankees??

the Red Sox, they have the better Minor League system, and have better players all around now.

The Boston Red Sox are the new sherrif in town right now. They plowed through a mediocre playoff schedule, and a pathetically predictable world series that people will remember more for the A-Rod pre-empt than anything else, but when you look at the BIG PICTURE in baseball, as you pan back from that goofy sock logo and take in all of baseball and all the teams and all the history you will see a giant NY formed in white on a blue field. The main reason the sox are winning championships now is because they are doing what they always faulted the yanks for doing: spending money.
As far as I'm concerned it's good for baseball for both teams to be winning teams because without the sox and the yanks with their fan bases their would be no baseball.

Let's go Yankees!!
and let's all try to start liking a-rod again, : (

RED SOX
I pick the sox only b/c they are the better TEAM in a sense of players working together for a common goal at any given time the Yankees are simply a collection of the highest paid Free Agents available not actually a well built team some teams build around speed or consistent hitting or dependable pitching the Yankees just go for the biggest contract and that makes it an unfair battle ground. I think baseball needs a salary cap to help teams like Kansas city have a chance small teams are unable to retain home grown talent because player loyalty ends at the ATM. Once the FA year comes around the Yanks are always sniffing around the most talented/Overpaid name on the market.

Yankees. I'm a New Yorker and I'm not like the petty Mets fans or sellouts in the city that root for the Red Sox. The Red Sox may be hot now, but the Yankees have a more prestigous history. And if the Yankees get Santana then we will kick the Red Sox's behind.

I'm a Yankees fan. I hate the emergence of all these Red Sox fans since 2004. These were the same bandwagoners who jumped up and down with me during the "Aaron F'ing Boone" game winning homer. I just wish these people can give me one player from the past other than Yaz, Fisk and Williams. Ask them who Jim Rice, Dwight Evans, or Bill" Spaceman" Lee were and they will look at you like it's a trick question!!!Ask who's Oil Can???

Yankee fan since 1970 & always a fan whether win or lose. I can't understand how either team's fan can honestly say the other team sucks because yes the Yankees haven't won a title since 2000 but also haven't had a losing season since 1992 & the Red Sox did win 2 titles in a 4 year period & also have quite consectutive winning season streak. You may hate either team but to say they suck just because you hate them is totally bogus. A team that sucks would be a team with a current 2 consectutive season win record after a 10+ years of losing seasons with multiple season with losses of over 100 game, the Detroit Tiger & that goes out to Tigers biggest fan & you all know who that is, GP. I hate the Red Sox but to me they do not suck.

YANKEES RULE!

Sure, the Red Sox just won the World Series and another championship in 2004, but that came 86 years after their 1918 World Championship. The Yankees have had 26 championships between 1923 and 2000. The Yankees haven't won it in 7 years but hey, they don't have to win to prove that they are the greatest team in history! Anyway, it would be great to see them get their 27th championship this coming 2008 season.
