What are we winning? Yeah, let's save some money and use Ron Paul's ideas: get those useless eaters back to work even if they are disabled or just shove them in an oven even tho this sounds crazy , right? I knew Ron Paul was nuts! This confirms it. Well, nice Population control idea. sounds like the 3rd Reich

First of all, Social Security is not a handout. We pay into that, it is our own money that we are getting back. Second point, senior citizens have more experience, more knowledge and are for the most part, more productive than younger people who have not been in the work force as long and have not learned a whole lot. Third point: senior citizens are fast becoming the largest segment of the population. so watch whatcher sayin, there, buster, we outnumber you. And Al Qaeda, has nothing to do with anything about it.

I was going to say that maybe you should look up how many people die each day because they wait in line for social security and medicare to pay for the medicines that they cannot pay for because they are disabled. But our country wouldn't really have that all over the internet would they? The fact of it is, these programs were designed with the people in mind. And seeing how little minimum wage is versus the cost of medicine, I think a large majority of us would say that they deserve equality, wouldn't you?

I am a senior citizen. I collect Social Security benefits. I am also conservative. I favor phasing out Medicare and Social Security.
I personally favor phasing out all social programs run by the federal government. Socialism does not work. It always amounts to robbing Peter to give to Paul.
There should not be an age limit on working. Prior to FDR there was no retirement. People worked until they either quit or died.

social security was never meant to live on, only as a supplement to help people out, too many people thought they had that, so why bother to save any money. It's up to you to think about your retirement and save.

No. We need them. There are problems but cutting out medicare and social security will only serve to exacerbate them.

Pull the troops out of other countries and give our old people health care and handouts if needed. This country was built on their backs and we owe it to them to provide security in their old age.
