If you say simply 'humidity'(not R.H.),it indicates the presence of moisture in the atmosphere. In other words, presence of moisture in the atmosphere attributes to it the property known as humidity. Therefore, when water vapour is present in air ,the the air said to be humid - otherwise the air is dry.
If you mean Relative humidity by 'humity',then the relative humidity is the percentage of water vapour(moisture) in the air.The relative humidity is defined as the ratio of the amount of water vapour present in the air,to the amount of water vapour required to saturate it at that temperature. It is also known as the degree of saturation of air(with moisture).
