As long as you have an availible AGP slot on your computer. I have seen a lot of prebuilt systems that orignally came with on-board (built into the motherboard) video where the AGP slot was removed. If you look on your motherboard, you should see a brownish colored slot just above the PCI slots. If you see it, then you have an agp slot...if not...then you haveto pick up a pci card. If the later is the case, a pretty good card is the nVIDIA 6200...that comes in a pci version. PCI video is getting harder and harder to find as it is a very old technology. AGP replaced it for video several years ago and about 3 years ago or so pci-e replaced AGP. I know tigerdirect.com sells them (newegg probably does as well as they are not much different from Tiger Direct)

The 5500 is a pretty good card for the price....it's by no means cutting edge...but it can hold its own ;-) I was going to buy that for my fiance's computer until I realised her HP is one of the computers described above with the AGP slot removed. Why they do that is beyond me.
