1. Complete every quest you come across.
2. Always use bounties when wandering in combat areas. If you know a quest is going to send you against something specific, get the matching bounty first.
3. Max the missions. Expert rating nets 3,000 exp and 3 skill points!
4. Don't fret over armor and weapons. Nightfall gets you to max armor faster than ANY other Guild Wars game. Hence you might be able to skip a level of armor knowing that a new level will be coming soon. When you reach the Consulate Docks you can get maximum armor.
5. Remember that heroes are customizable. They start with only a portion of their skills and attributes assigned though; so make sure you finish their set-up before you do anything with them. Also keep an eye out for weapon/shield/hand-held improvements, their armor self-improves as their level increases.
6. Don't be afraid to buy skills. In Nightfall only a tiny handful of skills are given to you. You will have to buy ALL the rest of them yourself from skill merchants. Also make sure to use your hero skill points. You can use the skills you buy with them if you are a matching profession.
7. Don't ferry over to the Conuslate Docks. Many people give people rides to the Conuslate Docks so they can get max armor early. If you are a new player though you will NOT be able to afford it. Max armor is 5k a piece, and that doesn't include material costs!
8. Experiment. Skills and attributes can be reset in every town, you secondary class can be changed so enough, so try what you think is intresting and find your game-play style.
9. Have fun! It is just a game.
