A molecule might be a diatomic molecule of 2 atoms f an element, such as Cl2, O2, H2, etc. This could b separated into 2 atoms of each.

A molecule could be a covalent compound such as carbon dioxide, water, these can be broken down into their elements

The formula of a compound tells the exact atoms and the number of each in a compound.an ther ratio.
