For an example: I don't see a lot of people giving out oodles of stars on Yahoo, but I do see lots of comments that are critical of the asker--some deserved, but a lot are not--like one that told the asker that she 'WASTED POINTS' asking her questions, implying that she shouldn't ask. (They are her points, she can use them if she wants!)
People need encouragement and compliments. And it doesn't cost anything extra!

On the internet but also in real life. Many people I know usually give about 1 compliment a day, and maybe half the time that is about a famous person, then they have about 100 bad things to say, usually about people they know or see.

You're right. I hate it when people act as if it's killing them to be nice. And sometimes, I don't always think it's b/c they're just trying to put other people down to feel better about themselves. They see others' problems as jokes and don't take it seriously b/c they're not the ones dealing with it. So, they make a joke out of it.

You're absolutely right. Because these people are so freaking miserable that they have nothing better to do than to put you down. They can't do it to the people in real life so they have to be an Internet tough guy. It's easier to beat up people on line.
I posted a post how happy I was. I got more mean answers than good ones.
Some people are as supportive as Charles Manson!

Yes! I completely agree with you! I'm trying to go around questioons and giving a point to at least one person, unless it's a few lines of answer, but not enough people are doing that! I love the feeling that I get when I get a best answer, come people don't realise that they have to make a contribution to this or that can actually make a contribution to other people's happiness at all!!!

People these days always seem to be in to much of a hurry to say anything nice. my work colleague was told to pi.....ff by an old lady because she forgot to ask for a loyalty card. somone has given the thumbs down on one of the answers to my question and l actually thought it was very good. when l am at work l am always polite and very friendly it makes me and the customer feel good.
