The continued existence of slavery in the United States, and the fact that anti-slavery sentiment was growing in the North. While Abraham Lincoln was willing to do just about anything to preserve the Union as a single entity, his election was the spark that started the slow burn that ended with the shelling of Ft Sumter.

The Confederate States initiated the Civil War. They expected to win and certainly did not expect to lose.
The Union did not show their resolve and strength until the second or third year of the War. If they had built a strong military earlier it is possible the South would have been dissuaded.
Slavery was not the only issue or possibly the most important issue, but conflict was not necessarily needed for abolition. The labor saving inventions of the years immediately following the War made slave labor obsolete. Just as the farmers of Europe learned to bring in large crops with less labor, the South would have found better alternatives than the slave system they had.
The Border States of Kentucky, Missouri, and West Virginia saved the Union by not joining the Confederacy. If they had stood up and been counted earlier, the Confederacy may have thought twice about cessation. The Confederate flag had stars for states that actually fought against it.

confident, yet no longer through fact of slavery... And, the Civil conflict replaced into no longer our us of a's first brush with insurrection. whilst Congress exceeded a whiskey tax in 1794, voters of Pennsylvania and close by states rose in insurrection. George Washington raised a militia and marched against the insurrection. besides the undeniable fact that, the rebels dissolved till now there replaced right into a conflict. there have been constitutional disaster over the conflict of 1812, whilst New England threatened to suceed from the united states over James Madison's conflict and the Tariff Act of the 1830s. different lesser conflicts have been over the Louisiana purchase, the national financial enterprise and national street structures. those Constitutional conflicts grew from the compromises required to variety the form. i think of we ignore the atmosphere that gave delivery to the form. On one hand, our Founding Fathers had a bad memory of robust, centralized government interior one in each of those britain. And, they had to stay away from any such gadget. yet, they found out by using the Articles of Confederation that the needed government had to have genuine potential. greater, you had the nascent commercial north, which replaced into no longer suitable to massive farms, as against the rural south, which replaced into suitable to massive farms. And, the subject concerns here pass plenty greater effective than slavery. industry desires banks, roads and traiffs, and robust national government to motivate business enterprise. Agriculture areas do no longer. they prefer a central authority it fairly is solid sufficient for risk-free practices, e.g. one that grants for the easy protection, yet no longer one that takes a number of of sales by using taxes. The compromises forged in Philadelphia brought about a federal variety of government. besides the undeniable fact that, left unanswered replaced into the question of very superb authority: states or the national government. The compromises that allowed the north and south to come lower back at the same time as a rustic resulted interior the Civil conflict. The Civil conflict ultimately spoke back the great question: replaced into the united states a confederation of usually soverign states or replaced into the united states a sovereign us of a produced from semi-self sufficient states? Or, till now the Civil conflict, somebody speaking approximately this us of a might say, "the united states are arranged to try this and that." After the Civil conflict, a similar man or woman might say, "the united states is waiting to try this or that." Veto

The northern and southern United States had always shared differing cultures and views, but three main reasons saw the south secede and eventually cause the Civil War:
1. Political imbalance tipped against the south (mainly in the Senate) saw them no longer able to successfully filibuster pro-northern legislation
2. Rise of the new Republican party threatened the south (especially the 1860 election of Lincoln)
3. The south grew weary and tired of free soil agreements, abolitionists, and northern interference in southern affairs

Slavery was always going to be a major issue. The founding fathers ignored it so that they would not have to face what happened in 1862.
There was also a discrepancy between the industrial North and the agrarian South. Economics had to be more equal.

For the South, it was primarily a question of economics. Too much money was invested in the slaves, whose labor was the mainstay of the South's entire economy. To free them without adequate compensation, would have bankrupted them.
For the north, it was a moral question. These two diametrically opposed philosophies were irreconcilable.

The the slavery question was not solved (eliminated) by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Then later on it was not solved (eliminated) by the Compromises of 1820 and 1850 and the Kansas-Nebraska Act.

Illuminati directives. All the nonsense about this or that issue was not a causation of that war.And the reason it had to occur was to divide the nation for easier control .
