You´re experiencing what the psychology calls the empty space, and it´s completely normal to feel like this after ending a love relationship, ti takes no more than two years to overcome, otherwise it changes to a pathology and it requires therapy, besides our way of living, absent to the world, running from side to another, we don´t have time to love ourselves heal wounds of all kinds. beliveme anyone of us has felt what you feel, and the way to get out of that state, is being with you for a while, accepting, satisfying and making responsible to yourself.

contemplating a vivid relationship that is now long finished simply reminds me that i'm alive; i DO have a history, but i'm never stuck. i'm reminded that i can take my life in directions that once upon a time i had never imagined. it doesn't matter to me now that my present self is unknown to those with whom i used to have a relationship. i am able to get over it and move on with life.

I don't see how these two questions connect. What does a complete unknown have to do with a long finished "vivid" relationship( whatever that means).
