If you had a choice between a mac and a pc with the exact same amount of memory, space, screen size, etc., which would you choose? Just Curious.

I would get all my own components. There is such a thing as a "best" assembled brand (i.e. Acer, Dell, Apple, etc.), but there isn't a "good" one. You have no idea what they put inside their shiny boxes. All of them reserve the right to substitute components according to inventory availability. All of them build PCs. IF I had to choose between Vista and Jaguar, I would choose Vista for games. Happily, I don't need to make such a silly choice. Linux ftw!

Seriously, at least TRY Ubuntu.

I love love love my Mac. It's got everything you need, as long as you buy the Microsoft works for Apple program, and it gets NO viruses! :) It also has never given me any problems at all, unlike PCs that get slow and run down really fast. My mac is small and portable and fantastic. The Apple support is awesome too, like when I needed a new battery it was sent to my house in literally 24 hours. The only problem is that the battery runs down pretty fast, and it gets sort of hot sitting on your lap for a while. But yes, I'd choose a mac over a PC any day.

i would choose a mac over a windows pc regardless of the price. micorsoft screwed up majorly with vista. i have tried vista, and some of the features are cool, but for the average user there is no reason to upgrade to it, and it has many problems so people are just downgrading to xp. The new microsoft OS is slated to come out next fall. i guess microsoft knows vista is a dud as well.

Macs dont get vireses, adware, spyware, or other types of malware. Macs could get viruses, but the unix platform osx is built on it far more secure then windows. macs do crash, but its not as bad or as frequent as windows pc's do. Now, becasue macs have intel processors, they can also run windows.

Here comes the pathetic windows fanboys (or not)

Dude, as of last friday, I am never going back to a PC. After 15 years I've switched sides. When I saw the iMac at Bestbuy, it blew me away. It has so many features already built in that windows vista doesn't have. It has a lot of extras. It runs alot faster too. In like 30 seconds everything is loaded and you're ready to go. Windows was always slow to load. I'm using Macs from now on. ^.^

I would take the Mac because I think their hardware looks so awesome, and Mac OS X is really nice as well. I don't have a Mac at present, I use WinXP and Ubuntu Linux mainly, but I would love to have a fast new Mac with the latest version of OS X on it.

depends on the operating system. if they both cost exactly the same and the pc was running windows, then i'd probably choose a mac, unless i plan to use it for gaming.

if i was allowed to install whatever operating system i wanted on the pc, i would choose the pc and install linux on it. i'd choose it by a longshot over the mac.
