Here in Connecticut, we have a "chain" of restaurants named "Duchess". They are designed and run as a fast food joint; but the menu goes far beyond burgers, hot dogs and fries. You can get Chicken Parmigiana with pasta, salad and bread, Liver and Onions, and more. All prepared when you place your order. It is remarkably affordable and rather decent. An excellent choice if you are on both a short budget and short timeframe.

Well, I know of this restraurant called Ardovino's Pizza. There is only one, so that is the least "chain like" of all. That and the other million or so individually ownded restaurants.
