YES. And don't ever give out any details especially about your banking and credit card details. Its better if you don't reply to them at all.
Mark those emails with "spam" tags, and you can tighten up your spam filters into alowing only those that are in your address book that can send you emails.
Be careful, those people are badasses.

Yes they are scams!! Your email program or client has spam filters you can block some email addresses but they usually only have a limit of 200 email addresses. Trust me, you will easily fill the 200 email quota in a short period. You just have to check the options of the email program or client you use and make all settings to get a lot of these emails from coming through. You will never stop them 100% though.
As far as checking it, I would not fool with it, someway or another they will end up asking for personal information which makes the scam so hard to detect for many. Cause they seem so innocent to begin with by not asking for any major information but then it will be a bank account # or even license # which a lot of people can end up getting your social security # that way and then the beginning of people using your identity.

I recently got one like it... the email addressing having .uk in it. I saw it as an obvious scam...I mean, how on earth would I win a lottery for a country I'm not even in?
Like any other spam, not much you can do until you block the email. But then others can just come with different email addresses. Best thing really is to just ignore and delete it.

hi my dad recently got picked 4 something similar but with a mobile phone saying that he had won a new mobile and ect.. but it was a scam!! be careful of any organisations in any country that are probably misleading you to believe that you are a winner! My friend won over 500 thousand pounds on internet lotteries and to this day hasn't received any of it.

Nigerian scam avoid this at all costs. I think everybody gets these things! There is no need to investigate, if you were owed a million bucks let me assure you these guys wouldn't be knocking your door down to give it to you! Send these emails directly to your spam folder.
