First you would have to deal with the problems that put most of them on the street. They're people who once had homes just like anyone else. You'd have to find a way to head off drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling addiction.

But those aren't the only problems that put people on the street. You'd have to stop factories from closing and leaving people jobless, companies from outsourcing and leaving people jobless. You'd have to revamp the welfare system so that working and/or poor families in need qualify for more aid than the local baby making machines who don't want to work. Make emergency funds available for people who are about to be evicted or lose their home.

That's just a few of the many things you'd have to do to eliminate the homeless problem. A lot of people in this country are only a few paychecks away from homelessness.
