And the monkey has unwrapped all the presents and was tearing up the toys and even got in the fridge and ruined Christmas breakfast by eating all the pastries and such?

Unfortunately I would act on impulse and beat that monkey's a*ss with the broom. I would go into a rage and really hurt it. Afterward I would probably feel guilty and apologize to the monkey, and nurse it back to health.
