Yes, you are held liable. If your employer asks you to shoot his wife, would you do it ? Assisting in tax evasion is no different, save for the nature of the crime.

Of course! And if your job requires you to pay the taxes, YOU can be held PERSONALLY liable for the taxes if the employer does not pay them.

Any time you commit a crime you are held accountable for what you did. The fact that an employer told you to do it doesn't absolve you of guilt.

The long and short of it is: you are committing a crime if you commit any crime, and if there is something fishy about what this employer asks you to do, call the IRS and get an opinion.
