what would u say are the best songs from the wizard of oz? we're doing it at school n im playing the flute part in the orchestra, but ive never seen it n we havent got the music yet so i dont really know what its about..... any ideas?

Somewhere over the rainbow is obviously the most famous song from the Wizard of Oz and my personal favorite because I love Judy Garland.

I would say stay away from Disney, way over done! Classic Broadway is always great, especially since you are doing a classic show. Also steer clear of shows that just opened up or have become popular, they will hear a ton of wicked, spring awakening, legally blonde, hairspray, rent, mama mia etc. Do you happen to know any songs from the musical Jane Eyre, if you happen to be an alto, there are some amazing songs Jane sings, it shows amazing range! "Painting her Portrait" would be amazing. But you need to sing what you feel makes you comfortable.
