The way they schedule is if you finish 1st in your division then you play all the other division winners the following year. The Colts win the AFC South every year and the Pats win the AFC East every year. And most years these two teams are good enough to face-off in the playoffs.

So - no.

I don't think so, for the very same reasons you just mentioned!!!!!

Both teams are successful and in the same conference. And if both teams finish top of their division, they will play again the next year in the regular season under the current alignment.

The NFL cannot help it if the two teams are at the top of their game, they constantly play well in the regular season, and constantly meet in the playoffs.

They are not abusing it, just embracing it.

Heck no rivalries between two great teams in the same conference make for one amazing game and they are on the same level so of course they will be playing each other alot.

Uh...Doesn't that matchup sound better than, say, the Pats vs. Dolphins (which inevitably happens, due to division) or the Colts vs. Texans?(also inevitable)...I'd bet the Pats and Colts head to head gets better ratings, and for a reason...They're the top 2 teams in the NFL...THINK about it
