First, tell her she bought a money pit- a BMW with 130k miles is like buying a Toyota with 430k miles. Unfortunately, this vehicle will require extensive (and expensive) work to keep it running and this will cost more than the car is worth and the perspective buyers likely know this as well. Selling it for cash at a dealer is the worst thing. My advice would be to clean it up the best you can or have it detailed. Make sure the car at least runs. If there are some things that need fixing just leave them and sell it privately and advertise in the Want Ad pages or go to a local super market and put an ad in the Car Shopper Mag. GL

Ahhhhhhhh, don't listen to the pessimistic here. Repair the car, all cars have their issues when they get old and high mileage.
I have a 1995 325is BMW with 213,000 miles. It's had it's share of repairs, but it runs SOLID like the day I bought it; probably even better then that day.
I've owned at least 8 Japanese cars from Acura's, Mr2's, Datsun's and Honda's to know that with those repair bills it was merely a band-aid.
My 325 runs stronger then ever and I say you should repair the problem and consider the long term ammortization on this car because it'll beat 90% of japanese cars.

I'm only 12 but my parents had to sell their BMW because it had a lot of problems; consider getting it checked out or sell it on Ebay. My parents sold theirs on Ebay

Dump it on Ebay if you don't want it.
My opinion is that you just don't know how to take care of the car. BMWs are so well made, that the problems you are going to run into are consistent. If you do some research, you can actually prevent the problems from happening. Don't react, always fix problems before it happens. If you don't know how, then you have not been doing your homework.

Get rid of pos ASAP! Probably, the best option would be to trade it in - in that case, you will not be morally responsible for somebody else inheriting your misery.
Isn't it amazing how pissed bmw owners are when I tell others what a garbage their overpriced miserable cars are! I have only one explanation - they hate being the only idiot on the block.

craigslist or ebay, just be sure to get the cash from the ebay buyer BEFORE transferring the title.
craigslist is free to list and does not have seller fees.

Give it to me I will take it. How much do you want for the pile of junk? I will give you $1,000 how is that. Have you replaced the transmission yet that is going to cost you around $5,000.
