Curiosity.
I'm very familiar with my senses, feelings, and thoughts, all things you can infer from a persons writings. I'm very curios to see how others think, feel and sense.

My thoughts are my own prized possession, the approval of others is not needed for me to completely enjoy them. But in order to help others with my writing, I would need to compare and analyze what I write.

Comparing my thoughts with others allows me to judge weather my thoughts have any value. Reference, reading other peoples work, allows me to place a value of the usefulness of my thoughts to others. From there, I can learn from others, or take away from my own if I see befitting.

Also connections into other peoples insights and thoughts replenishes my soul. Its a phenomenon of the human spirit.

Without reference my thoughts are trapped in their dark and cold cave. Their energy diminishing with every passing day of solitude. Other peoples coherent thoughts enter through the caves cracks as vibrant lights of energy. Increasing its intensity with every new contributor, until the cave is completely lit up, with new and exchanging circling chains of energy. It keeps me healthy.

Thank you
Rashad

Being a network tech, I try to help people with their IT problems and always ask for more details on the problem. I then edit my own answer server times depending on their input.

Being a n00b to philosophy, I spend more time reading then answering at all. I was completely self-taught in networking and programming.... but philosophy has been another thing all together. I still get a lot out of the books, but it helps to see those same topics here in this section.

Almost always. I don't just look at Y!A as enterteinment, there are alot of things that I have learned. I also look at questions I don't intend to answer and then read the comments... sometimes coming back to see what others have said.
I also like to see whether someone has made a statement to me personally so that I may answer or to see if someone else's answer sparks me to edit and add to my original answer. Plus it is always refreshing to see if anyone agrees with me too.

I do. sometimes, if I find the question one that can be open to individual interpretation. I want to learn from others what they find, respond to, and relate to in the questions.

It is really all about learning and helping each other as we journey thru life. The journey is where it's at!

Yes, I often go back and look for comments and/or thumbs up and thumbs down. I don't know why because I'm a very confident person (heck, I'm a megalomaniac) but even us megalomaniacs like some feedback now and then.

Yes, I do. I like to see whether I'm in the majority in my opinion or not. And I like to see the thoughts of others. Sometimes they come up with things I haven't even thought of.

Sometimes, though most of the time i like to think that my answer is the only one that should be read. i guess cause im bored and i need to think higher of myself than those around me do. So im reading some now.

not only that. but search the asker's/anwerer's q&a, recent questions etc.
you learn way more than just a single question.
if someone asked a question you found interesting, chances are they will or have asked another.
its how i found this one, i wasnt on when you asked it but i searched back to my recent q&A etc etc.
its normal, infact 'not' doing so would be very limited.
methinks

(would like to have answered your "very serious question...?" but it seems its closed)

cheers

I do to the really important ones because I like to see what everyone perceives in the question. That is what they base their answers on...
Peace and Blessings....

To see if others agree with you or not, maybe to defend your arguement? I dont know, but I do the same thing.
