I am starting a new job on Monday. I was looking over the preemployment paperwork. I have to sign a document saying if I have a second job. I do contractual work which is not an every day job. I see people for psychotherapy and get paid per person. My new job is for a large health care system and will be working in a Hospice, not psychotherapy but will be doing some counseling. I don't want to lie, but I don't want any issues to arise as far as working for this company. I was already hired and received my offer letter.

Let the company know about the second job. If you don't and the company finds out about it, you could be terminated for falsifying records (documents). You could always explain why you need a second job and they might be satisfied with your reasoning.

Then I would probably disclose the information. But stipulate that it is a off hours contracted job that only occurs on a need basis.

It just isnt right to lie or withhold the truth!

I think that they are looking for "conflicts of interest" or perhaps something that would interfere with your job with them.

it's not mandatory by law, but you would want your employer to be aware so it does not conflict with your current schedule.
