A 10 x 12 is not a square...
What are the units for the 10 & 12?
Assuming the easiest, this is a rectangle of 120 square yards.

Convert your linear measurements to yards (if not already) and multiply.
So 10 x 12 (if in feet) is 10/3 x 12/3 = 13 1/3 square yards.
If 10 x 12 is in yards than you have 120 square yards. Easy.

A rectangular 10' x 12' room is (10/3) yards by 4 yards. So in square yards, the area is (10/3)*4 = 40/3 = 13 1/3 square yards. So that's 13 square yards plus 3 square feet.

Ok
It depends what the 10 and the 12 are. If they are yards, you have 120 square yards.
If they are feet, you have 120sq ft = 13.333 sq yards.
Now if the 10 and the 12 are inches, centimeters, or something else, convert the 120 of that square measurement to the square yards.
Hope that helps.

Assuming the "10" and "12" measurements are also in yards, then the answer is 120 square yards.
