Because they adore and worship Big Business. Any time an HMO can pocket another couple of million at the expense of John Q. Public, conservatives pop a champagne cork.

Well, no, because apparently with all the liberals whining for socialist health care, only conservatives HAVE HMOs, and if they were to turn down paying their healthcare bill they wouldn't be laughing.
Your question does raise a serious point though in that HMOs need to be reformed. I do think they have too much power to turn down paying for this or that and the consumer has little ability to fight this. IMO attacking this problem would lead to a better solution than implementing a universal health care plan.

NO. i am a Conservative and i cannot get insurance because of diabetes. i would love to have an HMO>At least it gets you into the door.

No, we pay for our own coverage and don't want the government to hand it out to people who aren't willing to work for it.
