Ok, I know you said outside of death but the loss of my son catapulted to my husband losing his job a week later b/c he came home to comfort me, he couldn't get a job and one day while looking for a job he got in a car accident that totalled the car and we've been carless since and even had to go bankrupt. This one event, my sons death lead into a series of events that provided the most drama I've ever had.

JFK's death. It came on with a wave of news's specials right about noon. I could barely believe at eight that night, the president had been killed. The president was like God to me back then! All of those scrambled news specials, it was like the end of the world. It came in waves. LBJ signing in on Air Force one, with Jackie Kennedy, still in a blood stained pink suit and hat! I was ten year's old. We had just come through the Cuban missile crisis. No president, before or since, has had that impact on me. It was part of volunteering for 'Nam later. Seven year's later....

Probably when I stayed all night to take care of my grandmother that was dying with cancer. She was on so much medication & didnt really evenknow who she was at times.
She said she needed to go to the bathroom, I didnt know that she couldnt physically go anymore so I took her. Well when I tried to get her to go back to her bed she thought I was my mom ( which was the one having to give her the meds). My grandma thought my mom was trying to kill her, & then thinking I was my mom she got very violent with me & wouldnt let me open the bathroom door. She grabed my wrist with one hand & started beating me with the other. I have hated that day for over 6 yrs now. I know my grandma didnt know what she was doing but if you had ever met her you would know she is the sweetest person to ever live & would NEVER do a thing like that.

When I was 17 and found out my girlfriend was pregnant. Not a good start to my senior year. My daughter is 8 now and it turned out to be the best thing ever.

the day me the ex went to court for child custody. a few days earlier he called and threatened my life and called me every name in the book. I recorded our convo, of course and played it for the judge. The dumb hooker judge still didn't change the agreement and even called my ex "sweety".
Worst judge ever!
