The last I looked, those 6 military leaders were UNDER Cheney. Dont we all wish this for our bosses. You also failed to mention the 26 other military leaders who asked him to NOT resign

I think the serving officers remained silent, as was appropriate given our system of military subordinacy to civilian rule.

The retired officers were free to speak out.

The one who should have held his tongue was the retired major general who had been a lieutenant general, but who wasn't allowed to retire in that higher grade. His criticisms looked like sour grapes.
