Okay, so I have to write a two page argumentative essay over a controversial topic.

My topic was the Big Bang, and how I'm for the theory (being a physics major and all).

Well, my teacher decides to flip everybody's sides to where they're against the topic they're for, and vice versa.

So, I need help.

I know of a couple of theories of how the universe came to be. The one I'm most familiar with is the Static Universe theory by Einstein; but there's a problem. His theory was proven wrong.

So I need some other theories that are very possible.

Serious answers, please. Best one = 10 points.

Thanks!

Oh, and I don't want any Christian answers or any other religious answers because I want to shatter it.

It's most likely a huge cycle.
We look at things for a very narrow point of view.
The Universe has been here for several billion years.
It may then shink back down to the point again
over and over.
The only ones who know the answer are the atoms
in our bodies.
The were there in the beginning and
they will be there in the end

From your point of view, I guess it'd have to be a point/counterpoint- type of thing...
For every point that makes you a believer of the 'Big Bang' theory, suggest the opposite to that point, creating an argument (palletable to you or not).
The 'Big Bang' theory is the only one out there that factually represents our place in this Universe, so it will probably feel counterintuative to write 2 pages of it, but it's worth a try, no?

Well, instead of an explosion, why not an implosion? Something like a black hole?

Every action after all has an equal and opposite reaction. Since the universe is expanding, maybe it was created by implosion...just a crazy thought.
