Yep.
Pretty much the same as any other animal. The "wild ones" in the woods are more muscely and have a little bit more gamey taste. The closer to you get to cities the more they become like "domestic" meat. I'm guessing that the ones in the parks are probably fat and juicy but I haven't tried one of those. The woods ones usually went into a gumbo or stew to soften it up more.
It's interesting that some people seem to think that anything not usually raised as a food animal automatically is not a food animal. Squirrel is no less common a food than deer or wild boar or wild turkey. It's just not much of a brag to say that you bagged one while hunting. :)

Now, that's funny! I figured a squirrel was bound to answer this one and I was right! Ha ha!!! I do know people who have eaten squirrel, but I am not that brave. It just doesn't sound like something I would want to try.
I hope you meant only four legged ones. lol

Yes.
And turtle, bear, snake, elk, and any other number of "exotic" type animals.
Don't like squirrel, it is way too greasy and I would rather eat chicken, or even rabbit.
Don't knock something until you try it, and if times get real tough many of us may be looking to the great outdoors to feed our families. It has happened before in the US, and it will happen again. Sooner than most think I am afraid.

No, but a friend of mine from Indiana, living in my hometown in NJ, regularly hunted squirrels and ate them. He said they were good.
There were some in my back yard and attic that I wanted to kill, but they were done in by trapping and depriving of food.
I think you should try squirrel meat and tell us what you think. For me, I will never willingly eat a squirrel!
Have a good lunch!

Squirrels are just rats with fluffy talis...wouldn't be keen to eat one but hey, some cultures eat dogs and horses and other wont eat cows...so if I had no choice(and didn't know what it was!) I'd eat one

I have, because my father would not allow us to hunt any animal if we did not eat or use the kill. I will tell you it is not my favorite and is very gamey, stringy and kind of tart. Also you have very little meat after you remove the shot, and your aim better be darn good too. After one meal we made a pact not to hunt squirrel. Ick.

Yes, they are pretty tasty if prepared correctly. Lots of down home Cajun cooking incorporates squirrel, nutria, guinea fowl, deer, and opossum,

Yup - several times (and I'm not a red neck)
Update: The meat along the back is like a real tender pork chop. The legs (rear) can be tough if you don't cook them right. have hunted and eaten them for years (sorry SquirrelCage)
You cut the head, tail and paws off when you skin and gut them - looks more like a small cat than a rat.
