There are loads of ways to answer that question, all of them are very specific to your specific situation including sex, age, state, etc.

In general, assuming you had lived together for a while, and both of you made very disparate incomes, the person making much less money will walk away with the lions share of the money.

On the other hand, if you both made around the same amount of money and had recently gotten married, you may walk away with what you had when you walked in.

Depends on what money you are talking about -- joint savings, investments, personal retirement, general income?

Joint savings and investments would be divided equally, personal retirement accounts would remain with the individual, and income would be just that income and stay with the person who made it.

We make approximately the same income -- him a little more than me (equal rights my butt cheek!) - we would both be able to live without the others income.

Well generally all assets are split 50/50 when you divorce unless a prenup is involved. I do not believe in divorce neither does my wife devoted christians.

What money? And, we have only been married a year, so we basically have zero marital assets, so we would each take what be brought in a go our separate ways.

I would honestly have a lot more of it if I was single... Together we live way beyond our means.
