The Searchers. The Duke pulled off a role that I doubt anybody would have the courage to play today. I dare say that Ethan Edwards could not be portrayed today. He played the ultimate antihero. He was hateful, racist, and down right evil (he tried to shoot Natalie Wood). He certainly put on an Oscar worthy performance and the movie should have won Best Picture.
Great movie.
