Is it just as wrong when a person post a question, and is a known troll to report them as long as it was a question, maybe some of us might want to answer

Sometimes even the troll may withdraw the question. Sometimes I spend a lot of time preparing an answer and I'm still unable to submit it. I suppose the one proposing the question has the right to withdraw it at some point, but it is maddening to waste all that time preparing an answer. Yahoo may need to find a way to withdraw it before we waste our time on it.

I don't report a known troll if the question is a valid one and any subcomments do not besmirch, malign or slander others.

As we all know our troll carries many names and also many different personalities/moods, given the day, hour or second. They are also known to masquerade as experts....and every question they answer they post their source as themselves being aprofessional in that field...no matter what it is. Obviously this person is in dire need of help - yet, even with that, unless they come into Senior Citizens wreaking havoc, I leave them alone. It's not about tit for tat...just doing what is right when needed and leaving them up to their own devices the rest of the time

Ya I can understand I would want to answer some of those questions but they always get deleted, I want my 2 points darn it lol. However, it is also wrong to report someone for a question if it is not against the rules not matter the askers history.

If there is a troll asking a leget question I don't report it. I also don't think it should be, maybe they have had a change of heart.
The only thing I report are racist and hurtful statements about people. Heck , off color or cuss words never hurt any one but mean remarks do.

I believe it's wrong to report a question that conforms to the community guidelines. All questions, in one way or another, get me thinking, and I like that. My knee-jerk reaction to having a valid or "fun" question reported/deleted is to delete the suspected reporter's next question. But I remember my granny's advice - two wrongs don't make a right - and I get over it. Life's too short to get bogged down in that crap! (Geez, 2 cliches in one answer - I am old! ... wait ... wise!)

We should do unto others as we would want them to do unto us. So, NO, we should not report a perfectly good question even though we know it is being asked by a known troll that has caused us alot of problems.

I think that if this person had exercised any fairness in the past, some people would be kinder! I only report for obscene or degrading material...

I believe that only the questions that insult others, are a direct threat, or rants should only be reported according to Yahoos community guidelines.
You don't have to answer their questions if you do want to.

Not up on the ethics of yahoo enough to pass judgement. I very rarely report anything and it's for extremely foul language (I'm not a prude) and/or blatant disrespect towards others participating on ya.
