Hi if i kept my 360 in a television unit/ stand. Will this be alright for ventilation?

it should be ok, as long as the back is not covered up tight against it.

Depends on how tight of a space it is. Is the space you plan to put it in open in the back or enclosed? If it is open then it will be perfect, if not, try to find another location (or neatly cut out the back of it hehe).
Do not use the system vertically as this makes the cd drive work harder and also cuts off a major air vent. Don't stack games or controllers on the side of the 360 either, leave it be by itself in the space you choose, store games and accesories on another shelf.

I keep mine in a tv unit. As long as it has a good 6 inches of clearance on each side it should be okay. I also got a cooling unit at gamestop that plugs into the usb port. So far works fine.

I do the same with mine, but I have a small portable fan I point at it and it does just fine, DO NOT get the intercooler attacthment for the 360, go with the USB connecting one if you want a fan meant for cooling the 360......but the normal works just fine.

I used to do that but now I leave it on top of the entertainment center. They are so finicky why take the chance? By the way, mine has broke down twice: Once in the entertainment center and once on top of it.

i allow the holes on the side to not ne covered because 360's
do overheat, but they arent supposed to

should be fine as long as it has plenty of room. it's better to keep it in the stand that on the carpet.

They get hot. If it's enclosed it may not be a good idea.
