It may depend on what the stains were cause from. Try a thin paste of baking soda with water. Do not use anything to clean a microwave that you would not put in your mouth. There is the potential for the residue to cook into your food. For food residue: Place a bowl of water in the microwave, allow it to cook about two minutes (which will loosen the dried food on the plate and the sides), then wiped it out with a damp sponge or cloth. Plain white vinegar can also be used to clean it.

heat vinigar in a pan on the stove clean with that... WORKS I PROMISE MY MOM CLEANS EVERYTHING WITH THAT!! the smell wont stay for long either... or else i couldnt live in this house
