I like someone who can *Live*, follow the objective moral standard, one who can be observant to peoples behaviours and is wide awake!
Being ready to take corrections, being ready to ask humble questions when in confusion, and being ready to accomodate people without prejudices.
In a nut shell, I like the opposite sex who is always ready to learn something new from the drama of life.
If She lacks this basics, well, I will look down on the person the same way I look down on a kid.

Every one does his or her best at all times. The cheating and lying arises from our own subconscious mind which is projected on to others. Therefore, when we are ready to lose respect for some one, we find some lying in them.
Even Judas was not seen by Jesus as deceiving him, because Jesus knew that Judas was doing the best he could.
When Pontius Pilot asked Jesus what is the truth and Jesus replied that he (Pilot) would not know what truth was......

Well, besides the things that make me lose respect for ANYONE..
When they're a gentleman around me, but a jerk around the guys.
Cat calling, groping, or any other type of sexual harassment.
Joking about rape.
Those are a few of them.. and if I were to come across a women who did any of that I would also lose respect for them..

Ditching their family. I have meet dozen of people who's fathers left them and never returned. Many don't get child support or cards or phone calls or anything from their dad except their genes and sometimes last name. It was stupid of their mothers to get knocked up by ******* but why should a kid suffer because of that? There are women who do that but not nearly as many. In elementary school the teachers would say who you could give your fathers day present (we would make stuff in school) to if your dad wasn't around before even beginning the projects. They never said it for mothers day.
Because of that, I didn't have respect for men until I was an adult.

Immaturity, bragging, stereotyping, homophobia, whining, overt religiosity, self-aggrandizing, lack of a healthy sense of self-respect and a general lack of wit and common sense. They are the same things that cause me to lose respect for other women, as well.
Oh...and self-identification as a Republican makes me lose interest from 60 to zero in about nine nanoseconds, though that part is probably unfair on my part. There are one or two intelligent Republicans in the world. Not sure where they are at the moment, however.

There are plenty of reasons generally for loss of respect, but I can't think of anything in particular that relates only to the opposite sex.

1- Nothing, absolutely nothing, gets to me more than incompetent parents. When men don't step up to the plate to be REAL fathers with all the duties it entails. Sperm and a paycheck do not count as fatherhood.
2- When they don't take care of their other responsibilities.
3- On a personal level, when they think I'm dumb and can't see through games and tricks.

Why shoud it just be the opposite sex. Why would it be allright for the same sex to do something but not the opposite sex.

I have a doctorate in psychology, and have been a couples therapist for over 40 years. The biggest problem in a most relationships is the lack of Dune Buggys. It may seem like a costly investment, but Dune Buggys have saved over 120 marriages and relationships I have have counseled. There have also been 34 Dune Buggy related murders of passion but I find the good outweighs the bad.

When my female colleagues gossip about and backstab someone, and then are sugary sweet to them 10 minutes later I lose immediate respect for them. I can't stand hypocrites.
