When I like, agree or approve of their answers I do. After reading a great many excellent answers from a person you do tend to like them.
Just because I do not agree with an answer is not a reason for me to give a thumbs down.

I give a thumbs up if I like the answer and their viewpoint not because I like the person. I like the people. I wouldn't have time to answer any questions. I'd be thumbing up all day.

Once i answer a persons questions i see what the person is like and how they think and yes i will sometimes give them a thumbs up or sometimes a thumbs down but not very often,
I like to learn about people and how they think .. Listen to others and get their opinion,, I don't think there is any wrong answer to give a thumbs down to unless you totally disagree or the person is just being ignorant..
Just my personal opinion..

I think I'm pretty generous with thumbs up. I also give a thumbs up if I see someone has given a good answer and received a thumbs down, I give them a thumbs up to counter balance their unjust treatment.
I rarely give a thumbs down unless they are degrading or just plain vulgar or harassing.

Opinions are just that opinions, no right or wrong. I give a thumbs up to all opinions if they are thought out and make sense, whether I agree or not. Sometimes I will change my thought process as I read through answers here.

I don't give thumbs up just because I like you-else I would be doing nothing all day except that. To me it means that I really like your answer. I never give thumbs down here unless someone is being a jerk. I do give a lot of them in other sections when people give very rude or very wrong advice (especially about taxes-my area of expertise).

Thumbs up all the way. I don't have to agree with someone to appreciate them taking the time to answer.

I try not to give thumbs down at all. I try not to even look at who might be answering the question Its real easy now with everyone looking a like l.o.l.

while I give a lot of thumbs up, I give them because of good answers, whether I agree with the answer or not, but I do not give thumbs up, or down because of whether I like the person or not.
the thumbs were designed for the answer, not as a popularity contest.

I give thumbs up for good answers. Thumbs down only if they are rude or lewd.
