I was just wondering about other people's opinions on this, because I would hate to see Keith Richard with a walker.

100 % blush!t and here's why:

The Rolling Stones - still touring and pulling in more revenue than almost every other band out there

Billy Joel - at almost 60 he is still touring and selling out areas and stadiums all over the world.

Paul McCartney - at 60 he has just released one of the best albums of his career and like Joel is still touring and pulling huge area and stadium size crowds

The Police - all in their 50's touring and selling out in minutes all over the world.

Elton John - still a huge selling artist after 30 years in the business and still touring.

Madonna - almost 50 and still a huge selling artist. Her Confessions tour in '06 was the highest grossing tour by a female artist EVER!

Hm mm I think the theme here is that all these people have had long careers because they VERY talented. Who gives a crap about how old they are. As long as they rock and give a good show who cares...it's called being ageist!

On a secondary note...how many of these fad bands that are around now will still be doing what they are doing now when they are in their 50s and 60s?....I bet absolutley zero because they don't have the chops, the talent or the songs. It is a sad state of affairs right now. The music business needs and enema!

I've seen Paul McCartney, Eric Burdon, Neil Young, John Fogerty when they were all in their sixties and they were all fantastic!
Age is just a number, some of these artists may perform until they die.
As long as they are good I'll continue to go see them (unless I'm using a walker, ha)

I could handle the walker, but I might have to draw the line at Ian Anderson in a diaper!

If there were an age limit as to how old rockers can be, one thing that should be mentioned is what else would they do if they couldn't perform? Performing is their whole life. That's why they keep doing it well after their prime years. They're doing it for the love of it.

As long as there is fans, why not keep on going? You too will be old someday. So why are you trying to put an age restriction on old rock singers? Afterall, they are the heart of rock & roll, certainly not the crap out there today.Long live rock & the oldies!!!

Absolutely not! If they can still rock it than they should!! We checked out Foreigner, Styx, and Def Leppard not too long ago and they aren't young punks and they could still rock it. We had a blast!!

No, but there should be a limit on how many stupid questions a person can ask.
