LOL someone said 1000.00..that is a ripoff..I'm in Florida and have changed many of them..once the glass is measured and cut..which they do at the shop..it takes about 10 minutes to replace one..the white or grey plastic seal around them pops right out..clean the fragments out and snap the plastic seal back in..labor about 50.00 max..if you know any handy man he will replace for 25.00 if you go have the glass cut and picked up..around 50.00 either way..

Labor is expensive down your way, and building materials tend to run higher cost too....and, unfortunately, many mobile homes used custom size windows... so they cost more to replace/repair.

I assume youve already gotten a price from someone, and you've suffered sticker shock.

Lets get a couple of details down here, and see what we can do....
First, what kind of window? Are we looking at a double pane/double hung window? or ... Some mobile homes, particularly those with metal siding and roof, will actually have 2 windows per opening... the 'outside' window, and an interior storm window. And this doesnt even touch the slatted window panes, or crank out windows...

Ok, once you tell me just what kind of window we're dealing with, what, exactly, is broken? upper pane, lower, both? Is the frame/sash damaged?

I would charge right about $1000 to make a run down to your neighborhood (Ive made runs like this for factories before, so I know about what it will take), even if I were changing out only one window... but I'll tell you how to do it for free. Post some answers to the questions above, or email me, (a picture would be ideal), and I'll be happy to help.

Now, if you just want to find someone local to come out and take care of everything for you, try asking at a manufactured home dealership...even if the dealer doesnt want the work, one of his crew might be willing to do it on the side. Same goes for a factory service tech, that might be working in the area already. The glass shop itself, where you will have the glass replaced can send out a technician to remove the broken window, or, you can try a local handyman.

Have Fun

By the way folks.. I said $1000 because Im 4 to 5 states away.... and if I make a trip of that distance for a manufacturer (Yes, I do on occasion)... that's what its going to cost them. It's not a rip off.. its called driving time, mileage, and hotel costs, and then the work while I'm there... naturally, theyre not going to have me make that kind of trip only to change one window.... lol (and I did offer to talk this individual thru it for free... still no response on what kind of window tho, is there?)
