not a thing
has some one tried to shut you up.
did someone else tell you something perhaps you didn't want to hear.

Or were you referring to the letter which was sent by Dirty Harry Reid and most of the Dem's to the owner of Clear Channel Broadcasting trying to have a talking head on radio fired and his TYPE of rhetoric not be permitted by others on the station.

This letter was signed by Hillary, Obama and Edwards.

Is that what you mean?

If you believe free speech is alive and well in America, the next time a Republican, any Republican, has a "town meeting" wait..hahahahahaha...in your area, try to get a ticket to it. Or try to go and hold up an anti war or pro gay or pro stem cell research etc...sign up outside the venue. You won't be free for long..

"Free Speech" as envisioned by the founding fathers is alive and well. The government does NOT arrest you for political opinions, and the Supreme Court has judiciously upheld your right to be a jerk in most cases.

"Consequence-less speech" never existed the way most people wanted it too. Your boss can still fire you for saying the wrong thing, or being rude to customers, your wife can still leave you for telling her constantly she's fat, and nobody has to buy your albums when you shoot your mouth off in a foreign country and honk off your fans.

The most new restrictions in place are if you mention that a person is black, Hispanic, or gay while you beat the living crap out of them, and you happen to be white.
