Is Baseball still Americas favorite sport or has that been replaced by Basketball?

It depends on the sport of your choice. Baseball viewership has dropped considerably since 2004 simply because of the steroids issue and the lack of a quality World Series in 2005 and 2006.
Football viewership is up about 15-16% in that same time period according to TSN. However, the Michael Vick scandal has not helped and those viewership numbers were probably higher prior to that.
Basketball is in limbo after taking a major kick in butt over the Tim Donaghy issue where he gambled on the games that he officiated, and the Kobe Crap from 2003-04.
The sport to watch that is really growing in popularity is hockey. And since the "White Collar" Anaheim Ducks won the Cup last season, their viewership is up considerably.
So in answer to your question I would have to give you an adamant NO (and maybe even a thumbs down) for the answer. In fact, basketball will never exceed the MLB and the NFL in popularity --- not in my lifetime anyway.

National Basketball Assiciation- Atlanta Hawks (Obviously), Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder. ------ Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat National Football League- New England Patriots ------ Pittsburgh Steelers Major League Baseball- Tampa Bay Rays, New York Mets ------ Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels National Hockey League- Pittsburgh Penguins. Only a million staff considering that I'm simply opening to love Hockey.

Definitely not. Basketball isn't all that poular anymore. If any sport has surpassed baseball in popularity, it would be football.
