To check your graphics card, just click on start. click run, type dxdiag and click the display link. to see if you have AGP vs PCI-E just open your box and check it. AGP is usually a brown slot with just one solid interface, PCI-E is a interrupted interface and will be from the Geforce 6000 series. when you type dxdiag. though there are still agp versions, just a rough guideline

Since you posted in laptops and notebooks, I felt compelled to explain that 99% of the notebooks and laptops do NOT have upgradeable graphics: you're stuck with what you bought, as you don't have a graphics slot and the existing card is not removable. If you are NOT talking about a laptop or a notebook, then you posted in the wrong section.

If your thinking about upgrading your video card on a laptop , you can't unless you plan on replacing the motherboard, the video cards on laptops are part of the motherboard and can't be upgraded.

there are 2 types of video card slots, one is called AGP and the other is PCI, if i am correct and remember well enough, the pci slot is longer than the agp slot. most motherboards come with stardart basic pci slot, so if u gunna buy and want to make sure. see what kind of card your buying if it is agp or pci and make sure it matches wiht your motherboard. most motherboards nowadays also have both slots so you dont have to worry
