Based on the 2000 election debacle with Gore voters and chads I would have to say the cons are more informed..at least they know how to punch a chad.

It depends on the person's perspective. Both will feel that are the informed voter which is why they are casting the vote the way they are. There are some who will be ignorant and vote the party ticket because that is what they have done all their voting life. To me the informed voter is the independent voter who can make a decision based on what they know about their candidates and vote accordingly usually for people from both parties who present themselves as the best persons for the job regardless of party affiliation

Depends on the voter. This conservative is an informed voter, and my father-in-law is a liberal and also an informed voter. Though we disagree on the which side of the issues we stand, we can have an honest debate about the issues because we understand the facts. I can understand where people have disagreement about say, abortion, and we can debate the pros's and cons based on our own morality. But debating whether Iraq is an illegal war is nonsense. It is legal, now you may disagree with the conduct of the war, but the FACT is that it is legal and has been authorized by the Congress and anything to contrary is ridiculous and uninformed.

I find that a disturbing number of voters from both sides tend to be uninformed not to mention all of the third and fourth party voters out there. The worst is the droves of idiots that write in Mickey Mouse for president every four years; that doesn't help anyone. Thanks goodness for the electoral college.

The informed voter is the one that has done their research on the candidates using various methods & resources.
Political party has nothing to do with being informed or not.

Anyone who would class themselves as a "liberal" or "'conservative" voter has already decided against being an "informed" voter.

Once again, I will sound like a broken record, but
liberal and informed in the same sentence is obviously an
oxymoron.

Both can be informed or ignorant. Both sides often just vote the party ticket.

Each side will say the other is crap unfortunately.
It comes down to the person. I research all issues and vote for my beliefs...not always with a party.

I agree with Susan S. However, whether lib or con, it doesn't matter. i know plenty of uneducated, uninformed people from both sides. Idiots come in all political flavors.
