this guy I sit with in class keeps on tapping his fingers and staring at me. we have assigned seats. he's always talking to other girls and they always look at me funny while they are conversing. he has a girlfriend and i have a boyfriend. what exactly is it that he is doing?

He must find you attractive, and since he can't talk to you , he is making some kind of remarks about you to the others, That's how some pud heads have fun at your expense, while seeming to the other girls he doesn't like you that much but He is interested or he would not do this.

Sounds like he is really a secret admirer who is afraid to or doesn't know how ask you out or be your friend. If he weren't interested in you, I doubt that he would keep staring at you. You could always ask the girls he talks to what he is saying about you. If they will tell you, and it is not true, you could confront him about it -- preferably in front of one or more of the other girls. You might also ask him to stop saying things about you. It is important that you tell him how you feel about what he is doing and saying, since he cannot argue with your feelings. Be prepared for the possibility that he might make a callous or hurtful reply, but if he does, that is his way of reacting to being caught. If you can handle things smoothly and without getting yourself or this guy upset, it might turn out that he is a decent person underneath, and he might even become your friend and ally. That would be the best possible outcome. However, if things get worse, you could try to talk with your teachers or counselors or even the principal at your school.

he is trying to irritate you because he's bored with the class your in! lol Maybe he thinks your cute, nice, easy to pick on. Who knows. Why don't you just ask him what his problem is; are you afraid of him or something? If someone was tapping me I would tap back!

You're probably just being paranoid. I doubt they're talking about you. Unless you have been staring at the guy too much or acting inappropriately, there's not reason for them to cause trouble.

sounds like hes a guy who likes girls. sure hope his girlfriends not the jelous type. i think its probably safe to talk to him, as long as you know thats as far as its gonna go since you have a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend.

maybe he just likes how you look or some things about you
maybe if he left his girlfriend and you left your boyfriend then maybe you could hook up

I think your best bet is to just ignore him. Don't let him know he is making you uncomfortable. Don't consider his attention until you are both single.
