Would you recommend either of these with a 6-year old? What is the best part of each? Thx.

Fleet Science Center! They have lots of fun little science-related items that kids can actually play with and learn from.

They're even fun for adults, too!

Plus, you can walk around Balboa Park and see all the cool bugs and plants. I've seen the most colorful centipedes ever in their gardens.

Definitely I would recommend the Fleet Science Center. The best part about the Science Center is that is is made for kids. There are a lot of fun hands-on things for a 6 year old to do.
On the other hand the Museum of Man has plenty to offer the budding Physical Anthropologist. There are a lot of neat statues and models. There is a nice Child's Discovery Center within the Museum of Man but I think it's geared more toward 10 year olds and up.
Good luck and have fun!

Reuben H. Fleet Science Musuem is AWESOME for a 6 yr. old. The Museum of Man, although a very interesting place to visit, would bore elementary school students.

Take him to the science center; there's tons of stuff for kids to do there.

Add me to the list of those recommending Fleet Science Center as there's STUFF to DO whereas Museum of Man is pretty much looking at exhibits.
