There seem to be a lot of women who fall in "love" with men on death row. I have no explanation as to why they do, but it does happen. The women are usually. lonely, starved for attention which the prisoner who corresponds on a regular basis gives her, albeit in a letter. I am not certain if prisoners on death row have conjugal rights or phone privileges. The prisoner does it as a way of not having to focus on the ultimate long mile to the Gas chamber or electric chair..He too may do it out if a sense of loneliness. It does not make any sense from the women's point of view because there is no way that they can consummate the marriage; the woman then assumes the burden of a funeral and burial, and while still alive, she usually provides him with money for cigarettes etc. Your point is well taken; why indeed would a women want to marry someone who is is a murderer or mentally deranged or a rapist?

Who knows why? Could be a thrill seeking thing as well as a safe way to have that thrill. Meaning they can not get out to harm the wife but yet they have the thrill of marriage to a bad boy. He has benefits to, most likely she gives him money so he can spend it on stuff in the jail. For those who don't know, the jails generally sell snacks and stuff to the prisoners.

Well, it can't be for the insurance money. I'm sure most carriers would consider a Death Sentence a "Pre-existing Condition." On the other hand, the Fraud Period is two years. So maybe, if he still has appeals going....

Some women maybe find romantic pleasure in believing they are the only woman in the whole world that can bring out the good, true love in a murderer.

As strange as this may sound, they marry these guys because they are a safe bet.

They always know exactly where they are at any given time, etc, etc.

There was a program on this very subject a little while ago. It really was quite fascinating!

these woman usually have esteem problems and have had really bad luck with the men who are free to roam...also when a man is imprisoned he will tell a woman anything she wants or needs to hear. he is very humble...then again...what other choice does he have?
