Isn't that the same as saying...I'm not Anti-Semite, but I am Anti-Zionist?
Supporting the troops means also supporting what they do. War is something they do, and do well.

leftypow- troops don't get to pick and choose their battles. They volunteer to serve no matter what your OPINION is.

Most of you are speaking in half-truths. You are basing your answers on an opinion driven by the far left agenda. Base it on fact. This is not an illegal war Fact.
There was faulty intelligence world-wide FACT.
Take politics and opinion out of it.
Our troops are doing a great job FACT.
Countries can be great without being controlled by a Dictator. FACT

Big Pisano - lets say the spouse in this situation is working hard at uniting a country that was once ruled under a murderer, and that she is really dedicated to it so much that she volunteered to take the position.
Again your opinion makes the spouse work at a bad job. Mine has the spouse at a good one. Bad analogy.

Common sense doesn't seem to work for a lot of you so I'll use an analogy. Let's say you have a spouse. You love your spouse right? You support your spouse right? Ok, so now lets say that your spouse is working for a company that demands long hours and stress and all of that other business. You hate what this job does for your spouse. As a matter of fact, you hate their job, period. Does that mean you hate your spouse? The job does not define the person. The service does not define the soldier. If you can't differentiate between the two then you have managed to dehumanize the soldiers and can't fully understand what is happening.

Seems to me from reading the answers that most of us do support the troops but not the War. Those troops are our children, fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, next door neighbors and we love them and want them home safe! We cry and grieve for the lost ones. Would we cry and grieve if the War ended today? I think not! I think most would be joyous! Why is America not joining hands and protesting against this War louder? We ARE the people! We do have Strength! ok! Amen, let's eat! Peace Love and God Bless Our Troops! Bring those babies home!

I have heard of people who became Medics but wouldn't pick up a gun does that mean they should be condemn? Is that supporting or is that doing what we can?
I have also heard some women and children are being bullied by others if someone helps them is that wrong?
I think it is possible to support troops but not the war for many reasons.

You can most definitely support the troop and not support the war. These men are those that believe in our country so much that they are willing to die for us to live the way we do. I think we need to all keep in mind that these men did not choose this war. They chose to defend our country, and for that I support them. Soldiers are the reason we can have this blog and discuss our country's politics. You my friend should be especially grateful that you live in a country that lets you voice your opinion. This is something a soldier fought and died for.

A soldier is doing their job, a brave selfless job. Their actions are determined by others. A soldier is trained not to question why they are there but to get the job done. The war is a joke, the soldiers are brave and thier risking lives and I am proud of them even if I disagree with what they are fighting for.

No, everyone should support the troops, being the men and women serving in Iraq in Afghanistan. Everyone. You don't have to support the war, that is your CHOICE. This is not an all or nothing I support everything or nothing, every sane American should support our men and women serving, but you should not be compulsarily required to support the war.

It's very similar with your other example, most Middle Easterners have no problem with Jews. Some people reading that are going to be shocked, but it's true, it is the Israeli Jews that they dislike.

You already answered your own question. There were Orthodox Jews who didn't support the creation of an independent Jewish state, i.e. Israel, in 1948. Those Jews weren't anti-Semite by virtue of their position on Israel.

The soldier has a job, and a boss telling them to do it. our soldiers are brave men, that deserve our support. I did not support the war from the beginning, but I believe our brave men and women out there need all of the support we can give. I also support humanity, but there are a few out there I wouldn't mind taking out.

Because the war is wrong , the troops have to do what George Bush tells them to do or they get executed, i I bet 95% of the troops want to get out of Iraq.
